Tax is
3.3% and with residence tax it totals around 5% of your salary. So you
are taking home nearly all of your monthly salary. Utilities will be
your major expense. Expect to budget around 60 000 krw in summer and 130
000 krw in winter, per month, for your gas, electricity, water and cable
tv/internet. Depending on your type of accommodation you may also be
liable for apartment maintenance fees. These are usually payable monthly
and will be less than 30 000 krw. These are for security and maintenance
of your apartment complex. If you are not living it large then Korea is
an ideal place to save money. You can save up to 75% of your salary. |
