WINTER SPORTS>
South Korea
is undoubtedly Asia's winter sports powerhouse. Resorts outclass all the
country's neighbours. This was reinforced by Korea's seventh place on
the medal table at the last Winter Olympic games in Turin.
The resorts
are located across the peninsular, so there will be one near you. The
season starts in December and can run through to April. Slopes are
classed in difficulty and use the same color coded system as Europe and
North America. Resorts are of international standard and offer some
really good skiing and snowboarding. Lessons are available to beginners
or as a refresher. However, the best factor is the value. A day trip
with all transport, ski passes, equipment and outfit hire can cost as
little as $50. All you need to pack is your sunblock!
